$150 + materials (some supplies included, see full supply list below in the "Supply List" tab)

Saturday and Sunday, June 24 & 25th from 10-4pm

Become a confident watercolorist by learning the tools that will allow you to achieve great drawings, beautiful gradients, and more!

*Limited to 10 students only.

This class is great for new and returning beginners as it would be a great refresher. Master certain essential techniques by practicing to do a gradated wash and learning the tools of the trade. Understand the breakdown of pigments by understanding which paints are translucent stainers and sedimentary pigments. Learn the basic knowledge about composition, contrast, positive, and negative space. Plus, how to stretch watercolor paper & why…

On day two, learn to be aware of successful composition, where is the center of interest, how to make contrast work for a successful outcome. Practice using a light table to transfer that successful drawing onto watercolor paper.

Susan will demonstrate how to lay out initial washes to establish you light and dark patterns and how to use the palette properly. Use your own photos and drawings for this process and she will show you how scale (enlarge a 4”6” photo) to a quarter sheet of watercolor paper.
