Have you wanted to paint with watercolor but were afraid to try? Or maybe you’ve tried watercolor but it was too hard to correct your mistakes or the paint was too difficult to control? This class is for anyone who would like to learn a low stress controllable method of drawing and watercolor painting with the emphasis on learning, practicing and enjoying the process of painting. Barbara will explain and demonstrate simple tips and techniques that add up to successful watercolor painting. You'll receive a 10 page watercolor practice manual with all the techniques written out that you can use to paint practice samples and then take with you and refer to at home.
Some of the skills you will learn in class include how to: draw what you see, convert your black and white drawings into color, paint from photographs using a grid, use the color wheel to avoid color confusion, mix paint colors, avoid muddy colors, plus lots of color recipes including 10 + ways to create different shades of green. Some of the painting subjects you will learn to paint in this class include: flowers and plants, windows and doors, landscapes and seascapes, simple figures and faces, buildings and more. Other topics covered in this 2 day class include: painting backgrounds, arranging eye catching compositions, how to fix painting mistakes and how to simplify your supplies so you have more time to paint.
