Two canvases 24 by 36 or larger, students can decide if they want  a wider edge or not.  


Any acrylic paints and tools you may already own are fine to bring 


Elaine will supply other paints and mediums and bring tools students can use for special techniques


Elaine will also provide some treated paper for practice and for a certain technique.


Students should bring some items or clippings for collage.


Inexpensive acrylic paint student grade, to use not to keep in large quantity because it is for abstract


Ivory black 

Titanium White 

Paynes Gray 

Dark Umber 

Raw umber regular

Yellow Ochre

Blue cerulean and ultramarine

Red iron oxide

cad yellow medium

permanent green light or any green you can get 

Titanium Buff

Explore the imaginative world of Abstract Painting in Acrylic!
Students of all ages and skill levels will be encouraged to step "out of the box" and paint from their imagination and emotions. Learn the basic elements of design, options available in mediums, methods of application, colors, blending, and more. Techniques will vary from beginner to advanced based on each student's painting experience. Visual and text references will be available to guide students as they begin their abstract journeys. Varied mediums, specialty tools, assorted brushes, and special paint colors will be provided for students to use during class.
